Mothersclick was launched in January 2006 by Lifetime Entertainment Services. MothersClick was renamed to Lifetime Moms (lifetimemoms.com) in May 2011.
Competition to Mothersclick comes from sites such as Circle of Moms on Facebook and Twittermoms.com. Circle of Moms is a group on Facebook, and users have access to all of the features of the Facebook site. Twittermoms.com is a new network of moms on Twitter who share special interests. The site has a large number of special interest groups. Mothersclick.com is the most complete social network dedicated solely to mothers.
The Mothersclick.com site has a somewhat cluttered look and feel. Most pages on the site are somewhat busy. The site is quite responsive, and page loads happen quickly. All of the social networking features function well, and the site is easy to use. Navigation is somewhat intuitive, with duplicate menu entries in places. Advertising is displayed on the site, but it is well-targeted to moms and is relatively unobtrusive.
Registration to Mothersclick.com is free and is required to use the site. The registration process asks for username, email address, postal code, first and last name and password. Validation of the email address is required.
There is no premium membership offered to the site, and users with a free account have access to all features of the site.
Mothersclick.com is recommended especially to mothers with children at home. The site is a very active community of moms from all over the world, and much good advice is available on the site. It is a very complete social networking site, and an excellent resource for mothers.
